Acceptable Use Policy

This policy defines what is and isn't allowed on Metups. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or legal action.
What You Can Do
- Post honest listings of pre-owned items you own or have authority to sell
- Browse, save, and enquire about listings
- Communicate with other users for legitimate transaction purposes
- Rate and review transaction counterparties honestly
Prohibited Items
- Drugs, controlled substances, or paraphernalia
- Firearms, weapons, or ammunition without appropriate licence
- Counterfeit or stolen goods
- Items that infringe copyright, trademark, or patent
- Wildlife or protected species
- Recalled or safety-hazard products
- Adult content or services
- Any item illegal under Zimbabwean law
Prohibited Behaviour
Fraud & Deception
- Misrepresenting items in photos, descriptions, or condition
- Advance-fee scams or fake escrow requests
- Listings for items you do not possess
Harassment & Harm
- Harassment, threats, or intimidation of any user
- Sharing other users' private information ("doxxing")
- Impersonating Metups staff, officials, or other users
Platform Abuse
- Creating multiple accounts to evade suspension
- Automated bulk listing creation without approval
- Scraping or harvesting user data
- Manipulating ratings through fake transactions
Enforcement

| Minor first offence | Warning + content removal |
| Repeated minor violations | 7-day suspension |
| Serious violation | Permanent ban |
| Illegal activity | Permanent ban + report to authorities |
Reporting Violations
Tap Report on any listing, message, or user profile. Or email trust@metups.com. We review reports within 24–48 hours.
Appeals
Appeal a moderation decision within 14 days by emailing appeals@metups.com.
